Irish Cycling Show

What a weekend we just had!
We spent all day Saturday and Sunday in the RDS Simmonscourt at the first ever Irish Cycling Show and the event was a total success! There was over 75 companies exhibiting and plenty of events like the cycle stunt show, to keep the crowds entertained. Stephen Roche opened the Show and was around for the two days giving various talks and working the crowd - I even got to chat to him for a bit - what a total legend and a really nice guy!

It was great to see so many Irish companies and organisations exhibiting, from cool new bike shops like FreeWheeling on Pearse St. (who happen to be a MotionFox stockist!), to UrbanFrog with their cool merino wool baselayers, to the Dublin Cycling Campaign who work hard to improve the city for all cyclists.
The test track, where you try out various different bikes, seemed to go down really well with people with the electric bikes getting a lot of interest. There was stunt shows and cool talks on about all different areas of cycling. There was a few celebs about the place too with the Lord mayor of Dublin Andrew Montague stopping by the MotionFox stand to say hello.
Comedian PJ Gallagher was also enjoying the show and posed for a photo at the MotionFox stand.
There was some great interest from people in the FlashBk, our expandable hi-visibility vest. So many people commute to work by bike these days and lots of them were saying that they wear a backpack cycling in to work. Cycle commuters in particular loved the way our vest expands to cover the backpack as needed and we made good sales over both days. We made plenty of great industry contacts too and hopefully the show will provide us with a real boost for the summer!
Lastly I have to thank the MotionFox team who helped out at the stand both days. Mary, Trisho, Pado and Ciarán were absolutely superb and all their hard work is very much appreciated.
Ok I'm off to find my tux and dust it off for the StartUp awards on Thursday where MotionFox are nominated in two categories - Product StartUp of the Year and Export StartUp of the Year - fingers crossed we'll win something on the night!
Gud stuf,
Rob.

Hi Rob, bought one of your FlashBk at the show – great product, well done. Maybe you might consider a small waterproof version that would just wrap around the backpack itself that would keep whatever inside(clothes, papers etc dry). Could be a big seller ?
